Food-grade activated charcoal in capsules, 60 per bottle — a month at two a day.
Why capsules
Charcoal powder is genuinely messy: fine, black, and it gets on everything. Capsules solve that. You lose the cosmetic uses — face masks and teeth need the loose powder — but for taking internally, capsules are cleaner and portable.
What it is
Activated charcoal is carbon, usually from coconut shell, processed at high temperature to open up a network of pores. That structure is what allows it to bind to other substances.
How to take them
Two capsules with water, away from meals, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Drink plenty of water alongside. Not intended for continuous long-term use.
Important: timing around medication
Activated charcoal binds indiscriminately — including to medication, supplements and the contraceptive pill. Leave at least two hours either side of anything else you take. If you are on daily medication, speak to your pharmacist before adding charcoal to your routine.
