Tlotsa Cocoa Butter Jelly is a petroleum jelly with cocoa butter and African agave aloe, made by us in Boksburg. A 125g tub — the richer cousin of our herbal jelly.
What’s in it
Petroleum jelly as the base, with cocoa butter and agave aloe grown from naturalised African agave. Cocoa butter is solid at room temperature and melts at skin temperature, which gives this one a heavier feel than the plain herbal jelly and a faint chocolate scent.
Herbal jelly or cocoa butter?
Same price, same size, different feel. The herbal jelly is lighter and absorbs faster. This one sits richer on the skin and lasts longer before you reapply. People with very dry skin tend to prefer this; people using it on lips through the day often prefer the lighter one.
Where people use it
- Heels and elbows — the driest, toughest skin.
- Lips in cold weather.
- Hands overnight.
- Babies — a barrier layer at nappy changes.
Getting the most from it
Apply to slightly damp skin. A jelly seals moisture in rather than adding it, so there needs to be moisture there first. Straight after a bath is ideal.
